Review - Home is Where You Are (Midnight in Dallas #1) by Melissa Grace

I'm excited to start reading this series from Melissa Grace, leading up to reading the ARC of the third book in the series Long Way Home (Midnight in Dallas #3).  This will be my first ARC read ever, so I definitely wanted to read the previous books and gather an understanding of the stories and how they fit together.  So let's get started...

Home is Where You Are can be described as both an adorable and emotional romance.  This book is so incredibly sweet from the very beginning that you just can't help but smile while you are reading it.  There were even parts that I teared up (shhhh....don't tell) a bit when reading it because the emotions were so well portrayed.

This book focuses on the relationship between Olivia (Liv) Sinclair and Jaxon (Jax) Slade.  Olivia is a 37 year old recent divorcee who runs a bakery.  When she goes to a Midnight in Dallas concert with her best friend Ella, and Ella's daughter Grace, they attend a meet and greet for the band and are invited backstage.  Jax is immediately interested in her even though Liv has apprehensions about their age difference.  He keeps showing up for her and is so sweet and patient and begins to help her rediscover her dream of being a musician.  Through their shared love of music, they start to fall in love and it's a love that can heal both of them.

Also, I want to mention Liv's cat Mama, because she is a character.  This cat had some of the best growth throughout the book.  She is referred to as "hostile kitty" at the beginning and throughout, but when the book gets a little rough and emotional she is there.  When her people are hurting, she shows up and shows them that she isn't as hostile as they were lead to believe.  Such a cat thing to do. 

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one, Home Again.  I had an inkling about which couple was going to be the focus in this book and I'm so glad it is exactly who I thought it was.  I can't wait to see how their story develops!
