Review - Home Again (Midnight in Dallas #2) by Melissa Grace

 Hi Readers,

I enjoyed Home is Where You Are so much, that I jumped right in to the second book in the Midnight in Dallas series, Home Again.  This second book is also available on Kindle Unlimited.

Home Again continues to focus on the romance lives of the band Midnight in Dallas.  The first book focused on Liv and Jax.  This second book focuses on her best friend Ella Claiborne and their band manager Cash Montgomery.  This couple was teased a bit in the first book and I'm so glad the second book moved on to explore their connection.

Ella is dealing with quite a few changes in her life.  Her best friend just got married and became a foster parent, her daughter is going to England to work for the summer, and they are working on renovating the cake shop.  After Liv and Jax's wedding, Ella and Cash get together for heated night which sets their story in motion.  Both of these characters are widows, so despite their relationship moving fairly quickly throughout the story, they also have to reconcile their new loves with their lost loves to make their relationship work.  These two have been through a lot and their story represents some of the struggles that they encounter as they work to move on and fall in love.

Much like the first book, I need to add some pet appreciation to this one.  Ella adopts a dog from the shelter whom she names Bradley Cooper.  He doesn't have a quite character growth that Mama does, but the interactions with the dog add an extra level of characterization for both Ella and Cash.

Home Again hit just as well as Home is Where You Are.  Like the first book it is both sweet and emotional, but this one is just a little heavier than the first book due to the content.  Where the first one felt like a fairy-tale romance, this one feels more real and heavy hitting due to the higher stakes of their relationship.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching these characters work through their pain and bring down their walls for this romance.

5/5⭐

Next: The ARC of the third book in Midnight in Dallas series, Long Way Home.
